Job Overview

Shared Health, under the Manitoba Ministry of Health, is seeking an experienced Testing and Quality Assurance Analyst to support information system implementation and software testing initiatives.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in test scenario and case development, functional and non-functional testing, information system implementation, process mapping, requirements analysis, client-server and web application testing, with additional experience testing the Altera Sunrise suite in a clinical environment.

Candidates must meet the mandatory education and experience requirements outlined below and provide supporting documentation where requested.

Mandatory Education Requirement –

Required Skills & Experience –

- Case Development – 10+ Years
- Minimum 10 years of experience developing and executing test scenarios, test scripts, and test cases.
- Experience validating conformance with both functional and non-functional requirements.
- The response must include at least 3 project/work examples.
- Examples must collectively demonstrate at least 10 years of experience.
- Each example should include:
- Project/work title
- Duration
- Specific details of work performed
- Information Systems Testing – 5+ Years
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing detailed testing cases and scenarios and executing testing for information systems.
- Experience should include functional and system-level testing activities.
- The response must include at least 3 project/work examples totaling at least 5 years.
- At least 1 example must be in a clinical setting.
- Examples must provide specific details of the testing activities performed.
- Information System Implementation &
- Process Mapping – 5+ Years




- Minimum 5 years of experience working in an analyst role supporting information system implementation projects.
- Experience with process mapping activities.
- Experience documenting:
- Customer requirements
- Functional requirements
- Non-functional requirements
- Business processes
- Capability gaps

- The response must include at least 2 project/work examples totaling at least 5 years.
- Examples should include specific details of the analyst's responsibilities and work performed.
- Software Testing – 5+ Years
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing.
- Experience designing and developing test cases for:

- Client-server applications
- Web applications

- The response must include at least 2 project/work examples totaling at least 5 years.
- Examples must provide specific details of the testing activities performed.
- Altera Sunrise Clinical Testing – 6+ Months
- Minimum 6 months of experience developing test scenarios and executing testing for implementations of the Altera Sunrise suite of products.
- Experience must be within a clinical environment.
- The response must include at least 1 project example, including:

- Project title
- Project duration
- Specific details of the candidate's role
- Specific testing work performed

- The example must demonstrate at least 6 months of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities The Testing and Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for:
- Developing comprehensive test scenarios, scripts, and test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Executing software testing activities throughout information system implementation projects.
- Designing detailed test strategies, scenarios, cases, and scripts.
- Validating system functionality against documented requirements and business processes.
- Performing testing for client-server and web-based applications.
- Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects and issues through resolution.
- Supporting information system implementation projects from requirements through testing and implementation.
- Conducting process mapping and analyzing business workflows.
- Documenting customer, functional, and non-functional requirements.




- Identifying capability gaps between existing processes/systems and proposed solutions.
- Collaborating with business stakeholders, technical teams, project teams, and other project resources.
- Supporting testing activities in clinical environments where required.
- Developing and executing test scenarios for Altera Sunrise suite implementations.
- Ensuring testing activities provide sufficient evidence that systems meet defined functional and non-functional requirements.
- Maintaining accurate test documentation and project deliverables.
- Providing clear reporting on testing progress, issues, risks, defects, and results.

Candidate Profile The Ideal Candidate Will Have

- 10+ years of experience in software testing and QA.
- Extensive experience developing and executing test cases, scripts, and scenarios.
- Strong understanding of functional and non-functional requirements.
- 5+ years supporting information system implementation projects as an analyst.
- Strong process mapping and requirements documentation experience.
- Experience testing both client-server and web applications.
- Experience working in a clinical environment.
- Hands-on experience with the Altera Sunrise suite of products.
- A degree, diploma, or certification in Software Engineering.
- Solid analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
