About the Role
Acts as the primary technical interface between Wescam products and the end‑user’s mission requirements. Responsible for developing Concept of Operations, translating customer requirements into technical specifications, performing verification and validation tests, and ensuring installed performance adheres to contractual and regulatory requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
Act as the main technical point of contact for Wescam customers for book and build programs. Supports assigned programs from pre‑sale to post delivery.
Provide program engineering support to the Program Office for a variety of projects, including Engineering R&D;, major system developments, government system sales, and OEM and commercial sales.
Manage multiple technical projects in a cross‑functional environment, balancing the requirements of internal and external stakeholders.
Develop Concept of Operations, system‑level requirements specification, and interface documentation to support customer missions.
Execute the technical perspective of contracts, defining system configuration and developing equipment and data deliverable lists.
Lead and collaborate with other engineering teams to create deliverables that meet contractual requirements.
Proactively manage assigned projects, generate timely and quality outputs, and work with associated parties, including factory, to meet delivery schedules.
Act as a subject matter expert to internal and external customers on the installation, integration,
and verification of Wescam products.
Develop systems‑level test procedures, perform functional verification, and conduct software regression tests of Wescam products.
Perform site surveys, provide on‑site integration and system acceptance support.
Collaborate with Design team and NPI to help develop new systems technologies and products to fulfill a wide variety of requirements.
Support bids, proposals, and sales activities, including analysis of customer missions to define technical solutions, preparation of engineering estimates, and execution of sales demos.
Support Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Desired Skills and Knowledge
Familiarity with the installation and integration of systems in airborne, maritime, or land domains.
Understanding of systems engineering principles in a government contract environment.
Solid leadership, planning, organization, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
Strong project and technical management skills; ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to coordinate activities with multiple departments such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Programs Management office.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to deal directly with internal and external customers.
Ability to learn and grow within a fast‑paced environment.
Understanding and familiarity with Military Specifications, including MIL‑STD‑810, MIL‑STD‑461, MIL‑STD‑704, and RTCA DO‑160 environmental testing standards.
Understanding and familiarity with communication protocols.
Understanding of airworthiness.
Willingness to travel on short notice.
Meets the requirements of the Controlled Goods Registration Program and is eligible for a Canadian government security clearance.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of progressive technical and project experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
In the province of Ontario, Canada, the pay range for this position will be $85,500 to $135,500.
