Take the lead as a Senior Environmental Specialist with Barrick Gold at the Nickel Plate Mine in Hedley, BC. This role focuses on implementing final closure plans with a robust emphasis on compliance and safety.
Reporting to the Senior Closure Manager, you'll leverage your extensive background in mining environmental management to coordinate various monitoring and reclamation programs. Your project management and leadership skills will be essential as you work closely with cross-functional teams and engage with external stakeholders such as First Nations and regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate environmental monitoring and reclamation programs
• Analyze data and report on program outcomes
• Revise monitoring techniques to enhance compliance
• Supervise environmental investigation fieldwork
• Develop partnerships with community and regulatory entities
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or relevant area
• At least 10 years of industry-related experience
• Strong background in regulatory compliance
