Drive meaningful change in breastfeeding support as an Indigenous Healthcare Lactation Consultant for the Women’s Health Program. Your role will focus on providing culturally-protected care through an Indigenous lens.

Reporting to the Manager of Health Services, you’ll coordinate specialized breastfeeding support while educating patients and healthcare professionals on Indigenous beliefs and practices. This position requires a solid background in maternal and newborn nursing along with skills in integrating Indigenous cultural elements into healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee breastfeeding care coordination for new mothers
• Educate diverse audiences on Indigenous breastfeeding practices
• Support staff and students in culturally-rooted practices




• Engage in the patient discharge process effectively
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to improve service delivery

Requirements:
• At least three years of clinical nursing experience
• Certification as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant
• Understanding of Indigenous health challenges in Manitoba
• Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba
• Completion of cultural safety and anti-racism training
