We are an in-home tutoring centre currently seeking a robust writing instructor to join our team.
Position Overview
We are looking for a teacher who specializes in teaching writing to students from Grade 3 to Grade 9. The ideal candidate is confident in teaching various writing genres and can help students develop structured, logical, and well-developed writing skills.
Required Expertise The tutor should be familiar with:
Persuasive Writing
Narrative Writing
Expository Writing
Creative Writing
Paragraph & Essay Structure
Thesis development & supporting evidence
Editing and revision skills
Experience aligning with Ontario curriculum expectations is an asset.
Qualifications
Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students
Solid understanding of academic writing structure
Ability to scaffold writing instruction based on student level
Responsible, punctual, and patient
Comfortable providing in-home tutoring
Teachers living in Markham are preferred
Compensation
$30 per hour
