Position Summary
As a Power System Studies Engineer, you will work with regional and global power systems teams to support and lead projects involving renewable developers, transmission owners, and utilities. The role focuses on power system modeling and analysis with renewable generation, including offshore wind, green hydrogen, and large interconnectors.

Responsibilities

Perform internal power system studies (load flow, short circuit, insulation coordination, TOV, arc flash, harmonics).

Perform external interconnection studies to ensure compliance with interconnection requirements and NERC standards.

Support system studies projects throughout the lifecycle—from proposal to execution, reporting, client meetings, and close‑out.

Contribute to project delivery on time and to budget.

Collaborate with team members across North America and globally.

Engage with renewable developers, utilities, and ISO/RTO stakeholders, and participate in forums and technical committees such as IEEE or CIGRE.

Qualifications





Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Minimum 4 years of direct experience with system studies on utility‑scale renewable projects.

Experience with power system studies using PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD, or equivalent tools.

Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and CIGRE industry standards.

Exceptional problem‑solving and analytical skills focused on achieving results.

Team player with strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Willingness to travel within North America.

Preferred Experience

Experience with system studies in California and/or WECC.

Experience with offshore wind and HVDC.

Knowledge of programming languages such as Python for study automation.

Professional Engineer (PE or PEng) license.

Location and Compensation
Flexible and can be remote anywhere in North America; preference for candidates in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toronto, Boston, Orlando, or Dallas/Fort Worth, US. Salary range: $72,600.00 to $105,000.00, based on location and experience.
