Sterile Processing Tech – Lead Responsibilities
Responsible for coordinating surgical instruments for specific surgical procedures, responding to specific requests from the Operating Room and Cardiovascular Surgery, maintenance of the instrument repair function and the decontamination, prepping, packaging and sterilization of all instrumentation processed through the department following established department procedures. Acts as preceptor, mentor and resource in support of department team members.
Requirements
High School or Equivalent
HSPA (Health System Performance Assessment), CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician), CBSPDT (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Technicians)
1 years of Experience
1 year Hospital in related field and 1 year instrument.
Knowledge of decontamination processes, preparation, and packaging,
sterilization techniques based on manufacturer recommendations, and storage of sterilized items.
