Responsibilities Diagnose and resolve issues encountered on production equipment efficiently to minimize downtime.
Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks on both electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, transformers, and other plant equipment.
Carry out preventative maintenance, installation, improvement, and repair activities of plant equipment as required, ensuring accurate maintenance records are kept.
Ensure plant and equipment are maintained and operated in line with industry standards and operational requirements.
Work closely with the EH&S; Officer to ensure safety and environmental compliance across the team.
Collaborate with production teams and external vendors for troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
Participate in emergency equipment repairs and on‑call duties as required.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities by suggesting ideas for enhancing system performance and plant efficiency.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Diploma in Industrial Mechanics (or equivalent) or relevant work experience.
5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, ideally with electromechanical system experience.
Experience in manufacturing or food processing industries (preferred).
Certification in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation‑related fields.
Welding skills would be an asset.
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Openness to learning new software tools.
Strong problem‑solving skills, ingenuity, and the ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
Safety First mindset with an ability to work in compliance with safety protocols.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required. Company truck will be provided for travel between work locations.
Shift Work Must be available to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities Physically demanding work including handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and manual dexterity. Ability to lift and handle weights up to 50 lbs. Own tools/equipment: steel‑toed safety boots required.
