Key Responsibilities Manage Canadian patent maintenance fees across the national IP team.
Oversee data management and official deadlines using the firm’s IP Practice Management system.
Prepare and manage official correspondence with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO).
Interact with CIPO and resolve procedural matters in real time to facilitate ongoing maintenance of patent applications.
Keep up-to-date on changes in patent law and internal procedural requirements.
Key Competencies Minimum 3 years of relevant patent experience with advanced knowledge of Canadian patent maintenance fees from a law firm and/or in‑house experience.
Additional Canadian patent prosecution experience is an asset.
Knowledge of document management systems (iManage an asset).
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe, and Excel.
Strong organizational skills, including planning, prioritizing, multi‑tasking, and attention to detail.
Ability to succeed in a multi‑disciplinary team with a collaborative and strategic mindset.
Adaptability to dynamic priorities and deadlines.
Diploma in Paralegal, Law Clerk, or Legal Assistant an asset.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Team player with a strong work ethic and a desire for continuous improvement.

Salary 55,000 – 65,000 CAD, based on experience and location.
