The Western Development Museum (WDM) is seeking a Marketing Specialist to lead marketing initiatives and increase community engagement with WDM programs and services.
Responsibilities
Creating and delivering marketing campaigns, content schedules, and marketing materials to meet WDM goals and objectives.
Delivering and managing tactical plans for advertising and content schedules for both online and traditional media as per the marketing strategy.
Overseeing WDMs online digital presence across various platforms, ensuring prompt, appropriate responses to public inquiries and cohesion with other ongoing marketing campaigns.
Managing online content—including social media, Google, Trip Advisor, etc.—for comments, posts, paid advertising and reputation.
Planning and managing email and social marketing campaigns to enhance engagement with target audiences.
Performing website updates to ensure accuracy and current content.
Performing website quality assurance checks on a regular basis, ensuring all website plug‑ins are up to date and arranging for website updates as required; also ensuring website SEO is maintained and best practices are implemented for descriptions, captions, alt text, etc.
Qualifications
Experience working in museum, heritage or other cultural organizations.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors, advertisers and community contacts throughout the province.
Willingness to learn and remain current on latest marketing and communication trends and best‑practices.
Creative, imaginative and able to write engaging, exciting digital content for various online platforms that resonates with WDM’s audience.
Solid eye for detail—organization, accuracy and attention to detail.
