Position Overview Designer I – Burnaby, BC. Assist in the design and order processing of centrifugal pumps, components, and equipment within Sulzer’s Engineering Department. Immediate opening for a junior‑level engineer.
Key Responsibilities Assist in design and order processing of centrifugal pumps, components, and equipment.
Prepare engineering drawings using CAD (Inventor, AutoCAD, Siemens NX, Medusa).
Provide engineering drawing control with Teamcenter.
Create and manage Bills of Materials within SAP.
Perform stress analysis as required.
Coordinate with suppliers and other departments to clarify design requirements.
Assign and check the work of others, and prepare design reports or notes.
Handle special engineering tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Support and comply with the company‑wide EHS Management System.
Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a diploma in Mechanical Design Technology.




One to two years of experience in a design and manufacturing setting.
Experience with SAP and Teamcenter is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Job Assignment This is a permanent position; the primary work location is an office with occasional exposure to the manufacturing workshop.
