A growing company is looking to bring on a detail-oriented Accountant (Thornhill) to support its finance operations.

This position plays a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and smooth day-to-day accounting processes. The successful candidate will manage core accounting functions including payables, receivables, payroll coordination, and reconciliations, while maintaining organized and reliable financial records.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including transaction recording, account classification, and documentation

Oversee accounts payable and receivable cycles, ensuring timely processing and accuracy

Perform regular bank and account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies when needed

Maintain and update the general ledger, including preparation of trial balances

Support month-end and year-end closing activities

Prepare financial summaries and reports to support internal decision-making

Ensure adherence to applicable financial regulations and internal controls

Handle documentation and record-keeping to maintain audit-ready files

Assist with invoicing,



payment collection, and financial tracking processes

Support payroll-related activities and basic HR administrative functions

Collaborate with internal teams to address financial inquiries and provide support

What We're Looking For:

8+ years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles

Familiarity with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks , or similar systems is an asset

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office tools

Solid understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting

High attention to detail with robust organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Strong communication skills — both written and verbal

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound financial judgments

Education & Credentials

Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

CPA designation (or in progress) is considered an asset, but not required
