Join the City of Red Deer as a Heavy Equipment Technician in this permanent full time role. Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide array of heavy machinery and vehicles to ensure optimal operation. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will play a critical role within the City of Red Deer’s municipal government.
Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues in various vehicles, including transit buses and heavy equipment. You’ll also conduct preventative maintenance, estimation of repair costs, and safety inspections, contributing significantly to public service. Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical and electrical system issues
Repair and maintain City vehicles and machinery
Perform Alberta safety inspections on transit buses
Estimate repair costs and document completed work
Conduct welding and fabrication as required Requirements:
Alberta Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate
Valid Alberta Class 3 Driver's License
Experience with hydraulic systems
Knowledge of internal combustion engines
Ability to operate computerized diagnostic tools Utilize your technical skills to support Red Deer’s transportation and public works initiatives.
