Description

Directly reporting to the Site Manager, the Cook is accountable for: Meal Preparation for approximately 50 residents, Serving Meals and Cleanliness of Food Services Area. This position entails a high level of interaction with seniors and requires physical endurance (e.g. maneuvering heavy pots, flour bags).

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
Demonstrates an understanding of the Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating
Knowledge of food ratio guidelines based on dietary requirements for seniors
Demonstrates an understanding of dietary requirements for seniors
High School Diploma
Food Handlers Course
WHMIS
Level 4 Criminal Record Check

Work Conditions And Physical Capabilities





The Spruce View Lodge is a fast-paced setting with many repetitive tasks. The position can be physically demanding and attention to detail is key. This position requires a combination of standing & walking throughout the shifts.

The applicant must show initiative, effective interpersonal skills, flexibility and be a Team player. Excellent oral communication, Resident focus, interpersonal awareness, dependability, judgement, values and ethics; reliability as well as organizational skills are an asset.
