The Sales Consultant III is a highly experienced outside sales professional responsible for driving significant profitable sales growth within a designated territory. This role focuses on building and maintaining strategic partnerships with key accounts, developing comprehensive business solutions, and exceeding established sales and profit goals. This position requires deep industry knowledge, advanced sales skills, and a proven track record of success.
Non-traditional work hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) may be required to meet customer needs.
Proactively identify and qualify high‑potential prospects, leveraging advanced account stratification strategies and market analysis.
Conduct in-depth customer needs assessments and develop tailored product and service solutions that address complex business challenges and drive customer profitability.
Analyze market trends, identify emerging opportunities, and provide strategic product recommendations that align with customer business needs and long‑term goals.
Maintain expert‑level knowledge of market conditions, product innovations, and competitor activities, acting as a trusted consultant and providing valuable market insights to customers.
Address complex customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and usage, leveraging advanced product knowledge and problem‑solving skills to provide effective solutions.
Deliver impactful product demonstrations and practical training to customer personnel, maximizing product utilization and customer satisfaction.
Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, and other business‑related events.
Manage accounts receivable,
proactively working with the credit department to ensure timely payments and minimize risk.
Proactively manage deliveries and resolve complex order issues, demonstrating exceptional customer service and problem‑resolution skills.
Actively participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and customer events, cultivating strong customer relationships and promoting Sysco's brand.
Actively participate in sales and district meetings, sharing best practices, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to overall team success.
Engage in continuous professional development activities to maintain expert‑level sales skills and industry knowledge.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
Unwavering commitment to building trust and fostering long‑term strategic customer partnerships.
Highly effective follow‑up, sales, and persuasion skills.
Adaptability and resilience in dynamic market conditions and customer environments.
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Requires driving to customer accounts.
