Position: School Age Site Supervisor and Administrator

Licensed School Age Program, location TBD and Wortley YMCA (Office)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Compensation: Base rate starting at $24.50 hourly

Members of the College of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario - up to a maximum $28.00 per hour (includes all government wage enhancements)

Schedule:

- Monday through Friday following the elementary school calendar
- Morning program operates from - 7:15am - 9:00am
- Afternoon program operates from - 2:30pm - 6:00pm (varies with location)
- Number of shifts per week is dependent upon candidates’ availability and position
- Possibility of additional full-day shifts on PD Days/Breaks - various locations and needs
- Required to submit personal availability for shifts 4 weeks in advance,



using a web-based scheduling system
- Required to commit to supporting a family of schools within a reasonable proximity

- Mid-day hours (2 – 2.5hrs) will be spent on office related tasks supporting the School Age department or facilitating Orientation (primarily from Wortley YMCA).

In this role, you will:

- Plan and deliver a consistent child-centered program for elementary age children, in accordance with our YMCA curriculum
- Provide compassionate quality care and support to children and their families
- Ensure supervision and safety of children at all times; Understand and comply with provincial (CCEYA), municipal and YMCA policies and procedures
- Be committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
- Embrace and exemplify the Y’s core values
- Support the School Age program with administrative tasks and New staff orientation

Education & Skills Qualifications:

- Experience working with children 4-12 years in a work or school placement setting is an asset
- Plans to enroll, or in current pursuit of a diploma in Early Childhood Education, or in pursuit or holds a diploma or a degree in a related field of study is an asset
- Early Childhood Education graduates must be registered (or proof that registration is in process) and in good standing in the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
- Graduates in a related field of study must be members of their associations as required
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification or include the date of training scheduled within the next three months.



Training cost and time is at the expense of the applicant and not reimbursed
- Applicants are required to be a minimum of 18 years of age or older to obtain a current Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check (less than 6 months old)
- Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health, Ministry of Education and YMCASWO
- Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending, and stooping
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Administrative

- Organize school age department program supplies and equipment at Wortley YMCA
- Update and create a variety of administrative documents
- Support recruitment and new hire training and mentoring by facilitating group Orientation sessions
- Assist school age team with administrative tasks pertaining to Ministry of Education compliance, registration, data entry, etc.
- This position is a positive opportunity for development and future growth within the CES department
