As an RA for Foundations 4 – Emerging Leaders (Out of School Care), you will work as part of a supportive classroom team to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for school-age children. You will work collaboratively with the educators in the classroom to support children's learning, development, and well-being throughout the day.

The successful candidate will be dependable, enthusiastic, and warm-hearted, with a genuine passion for working with children. You will assist with daily classroom routines, participate in age-appropriate activities, support positive interactions between children, and help maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

- Assist educators with the daily operations of the classroom.
- Support educators in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
- Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and experiences.
- Encourage children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development through play and learning experiences.
- Support children during transitions, routines, activities, and outdoor play.
- Assist with supervising children and maintaining active supervision at all times.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
- Use positive language and guidance techniques when supporting children's behaviour and social interactions.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Help ensure classroom equipment, materials, and supplies are maintained appropriately.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and BC Child Care Licensing requirements.
- Assist with walking students to and from the local elementary school, when required.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with educators and management.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Complete other classroom duties as assigned by the classroom educator or management.

Qualifications
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator Assistant (RA) certification.




- Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid certificate that meets the requirements of BC Child Care Licensing regulations.
- Previous experience working with school-age children is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Dependable, responsible, and punctual.
- Passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development.
- Knowledge of French, Spanish, and/or Sign Language is an asset.
- Yoga experience or knowledge is an asset.

Hourly Wage: $19.50 per hour

Hours: Between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM

Pay: $50,916.54-$118,793.16 per year
