Position Vacancy: Security
Position: Part Time Security Officer (USWA)
Posting Period: August 14, 2026 - August 21, 2026
Hours of Work: 8/hr Shifts
Location: WRHN @ Midtown and Chicopee
Position Summary
Hospital Security Officers maintain a high regard for the rights of all hospital patrons & the laws governing those rights. Our team endeavors to preserve & maintain an environment where diverse social & cultural values are allowed & accepted.
Responsibilities
Some major services our Security team provides include twenty four hour Security coverage of the hospital with a dedicated officer in the Emergency Department, immediate response to all Hospital Emergency Codes, asset protection, maintaining a safe environment for Patients, Staff, Physicians & Volunteers, access control,
issuing parking infraction notices & assisting clinical staff with patient care as required. Contributes to ensuring there is a protected environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Position Requirements
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License required
- Must have 2-year Law and Security course or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Ability to communicate with the general public and other Hospital staff and external emergency personnel
- Good oral and written skills
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
- Must have CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Ability to make decisions in an emergency or stressful situations
- Must be able to prioritize workload
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent computer skills
- Some mechanical abilities
- Excellent attendance record
