The University of Alberta seeks an Endowed Chair in Indigenous Forestry focused on decolonization and advancing Indigenous perspectives in forest management. This tenure-track role is exclusively for Indigenous candidates. In this critical position, you will work to reshape the forestry curriculum by integrating Indigenous teachings and experiential learning prospects.

Your collaboration with Indigenous communities and various forestry sectors will address vital contemporary issues while fostering partnerships that support cutting-edge solutions. Expectations include delivering community-centered presentations to facilitate knowledge exchange and accountability. Key Responsibilities:
Restructure forestry curriculum to include Indigenous knowledge




Create experiential learning opportunities for students
Collaborate with Indigenous communities on forestry issues
Present research and engage in teaching seminars
Foster reciprocal partnerships within the forestry sector Requirements:
Identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit
Background in forestry or related academic field
Experience in community engagement and partnership building
Commitment to cutting-edge and inclusive forestry education
Proven track record in research and outreach Make a meaningful impact in Indigenous forestry education and research at the University of Alberta.
