Starting Salary Range: $90,640 - $113,300
The Senior Analyst, Physician Advocacy provides analytical, project management, and operational support to the Regional Advocacy team, with a primary focus on physician health and safety initiatives and regional advocacy priorities. Reporting to the Manager, Regional Advocacy the role supports provincial and regional physician health and safety working groups by coordinating projects, preparing briefing materials, facilitating meetings, monitoring and tracking annual agreement funding, and providing strategic analysis to inform complex physician health and safety initiatives.
The Senior
Analyst also contributes to key initiatives such as the Health Authority Engagement Survey, the Physician Health and Safety Summit, and the implementation of provincial and regional physician health and safety projects. Working independently, the role develops analytical approaches, synthesizes complex information, identifies emerging issues, and provides recommendations that support evidence-informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
The Senior Analyst conducts detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis of regional and local HAE survey data to identify trends, develop presentations and reports, and communicate findings to physician groups, health authority partners, committees, and internal stakeholders. The role prepares evaluation reports, briefing notes, summaries, and recommendations to support both physician health and safety initiatives and individual or group physician advocacy matters, including reviews of health authority policies, medical staff rules, and other system-level issues. Working collaboratively with Regional Advisors and Advocates, physicians, health authority representatives, and cross-functional teams, the Senior Analyst builds strong partnerships, responds to complex inquiries, and effectively communicates analytical findings while addressing questions, supporting evidence-based recommendations, and influencing stakeholders toward practical solutions that improve physician working conditions, safety, and advocacy outcomes across British Columbia.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

- Determines criteria for assessing issues and opportunities. Establishes transparent goals and priorities needed to assess performance.

- Explains the context of multiple interrelated situations, asks searching, probing questions, and solicits expert advice prior to taking action and making recommendations.

- Diagnoses problems using formal problem-solving tools and techniques from multiple angles and probes underlying issues to generate multiple potential solutions.
- Proactively anticipates and prevents problems.
- Devises, facilitates buy-in, makes recommendations, and guides implementation of corrective and/or preventive actions for complex issues that cross organizational boundaries and are unclear in nature. Identifies potential consequences and risk levels.
- Seeks support and buy-in for problem definition, methods of resolution, and accountability.
Thoroughness (A):
- Identifies potential areas of conflicting priorities and vulnerability in achieving standards. Reviews department’s progress against established goals, objectives, service level targets, and project milestones.
- Supports others in achieving deliverables by efficiently allocating resources and providing common organizing systems, techniques, and disciplines.
- Maintains a proactive work review and approval process prior to assignment completion.
- Solicits internal and external customer evaluation of performance and devises measures for improvement.

WHAT YOU BRING
- Completed graduate university degree AND/OR recognized professional designation in a specialized field,
AND up to six years of progressive and related experience; OR having an equivalent level of related work experience in-lieu of post-secondary education.
- Master’s degree in a health-related field is an asset.
- Demonstrated achievement in quantitative and qualitative research and analysis.
- Experience managing evaluation, research, or analytical projects.
- Expertise in, and mastery of, program evaluation and quality improvement
- Excellent writing skills and proven ability to develop clear concise and comprehensive evaluation reports, briefing notes, and presentations for diverse audiences.
- Excellent computer skills required including word processing, spreadsheets, and analytical tools and software (PowerBI, Tableau, or R experience preferred).
- Strategic and tactical problem-solving approaches, and ability to convert strategic objectives into tangible action plans and results.
- Experience in knowledge translation and/or supporting learning organizations.
- Fundamental knowledge of the organization and its interrelated components within the BC healthcare system.
- Excellent judgment in setting priorities, proactively identifying issues and determining action required when working under pressure and deadlines.
- Proven ability to work with diverse groups of individuals who have varying interests.
- Experience working with external consultants on analytical projects is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Patient Medical Home model, Primary Care Networks, and primary care is an asset.
- Superior interpersonal, oral communication and relationship management skills.
- Must be willing to work remotely in a distributed work environment, travel occasionally as required and work outside regular business hours on occasion.
