Location(s): Montreal A career as a Senior Advisor within the Tax Compliance CRS/FATCA/CARF team at National Bank means acting as an expert in the implementation of CRS/FATCA/CARF programs across the organization. It is through your understanding of the tax regulations, your ability to analyze end-to-end processes, your experience in cross‑functional projects, your experience in risk management and corporate compliance, and your knowledge of the organization’s business lines that you have a positive impact on protecting the bank and its clients.
- Perform account monitoring activities within the scope of the CRS, FATCA and CARF programs
- Contribute to regulatory monitoring and oversight for the CRS, FATCA and CARF programs
- Contribute to the governance of the CRS, FATCA and CARF programs
- Ensure end-to-end tax compliance of business processes
- Analyze processes, identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
- Act as a subject matter expert for supported business lines
- Work closely with Product Owners to support the evolution and enhancement of CRS, FATCA and CARF solutions
- Review, validate and submit regulatory filings to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
Your team
As part of the CRS/FATCA/CARF Tax Compliance team, you will be part of a team of nine colleagues,
based in Montreal and Edmonton, and reporting to the Senior Director – Tax Compliance CRS/FATCA/CARF.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the business sector and five years of experience, OR any other combination of education and experience deemed equivalent.
- Experience in delivery, project management or SAFE Agile
- Experience in reporting and data analysis/manipulation
- Proficiency with productivity and AI tools, including Excel, Power Apps, Power BI and Copilot
- Knowledge of banking products, services and processes related to Personal Banking, Commercial Banking, Wealth Management and/or Financial Markets
- Knowledge of tax compliance requirements, including Parts XVIII, XIX and XXI of the Income Tax Act
- Robust influencing, communication and leadership skills in stakeholder interactions and decision‑making processes
Languages
