Payment Services ensure the timely and accurate processing of payments to vendors, contractors and employees while adhering to SFU policies and procedures. We handle various payment types, including supplier and independent contractor agreement invoices, payment requisitions and employee business and travel reimbursements. About The Role
Provides senior level Payment Services and systems user support by: acting as the senior point of contact for all issues relating to self-service accounting applications; coordinating travel and expense claims; establishing, monitoring and maintaining files on taxable benefits paid through the Reimbursements and Disbursements section; providing direction to staff; coordinating daily staff activity reporting; providing authorization for the processing of various payments; auditing requests for payments to individuals, sole proprietors and small business firms that provide services to the University; analyzing payments to nonresidents of Canada; ensuring timely and complete transmission of critical banking information (i.e., Positive Pay) to financial institution; prioritizing payment processing; participates in the development and delivery of training; coordinating Pension enhancement payments; and assisting in testing and implementing system and application changes.
Qualifications
High school graduation and one year of post-secondary education which includes courses in accounting and related software applications; spreadsheet and word processing applications. 4 years of related experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study ad experience is acceptable.
- Ability to use enterpriselevel information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, other ERP) and selfservice applications at an advanced level.
- Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, communication and webbased applications (e.g., MS Word and Excel and electronic banking software) at an intermediate level.
- Ability to use PowerPoint at a basic level.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to provide oneonone training.
- Good public speaking / presentation skills.
