REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

As part of Potentia’s Growth team, this position reports to the Managing Director, Development &

- Origination, and has no direct reports.

Accountabilities And Key Functions The Senior Manager is responsible for the development of renewable energy generation (wind and solar) and energy storage projects.

The Senior

Manager will identify risks and recommend strategic paths forward to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Focusing on the Canadian renewable energy market, this position leads all aspects of project development including site prospecting, negotiation of commercial agreements, public consultation, permitting, working with subject matter experts such as environmental and technical advisors, communication with project partners, and preparation of proposals to source offtake opportunities (e.g. power purchase agreements). The position will also support due diligence efforts on acquisition opportunities throughout North America.

Role &

- Responsibilities





- Project management activities from project concept to the commencement of operations – coordinating internal and external functional teams, working proactively to identify project barriers and risks and implementing strategies to overcome them.
- Identify prospective sites with suitable resource, transmission capacity and favourable site characteristics.
- Land acquisition and coordination activities.
- Establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
- Local, provincial/state and federal permitting.
- Initiate interconnection processes.
- Prepare proposals/bids submitted to potential offtakers.
- Participate in (and sometimes lead) commercial negotiations, including Power Purchase Agreements, Indigenous partnerships, equipment supply contracts, early-stage project acquisition agreements and other commercial agreements.
- Liaise with consultants, contractors and third parties.
- Work closely with strategic sourcing team to select major equipment and set commercial terms.
- Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules.
- Support the financial analysis and modeling of the project by providing key inputs to the modeling team.
- Draft reports to management, including project status updates.
- Communicate information continuously and effectively to internal and external cross-functional teams.
- Participate in policy outreach efforts to governmental officials regarding industry issues (providing recommendations and feedback to the VP, Government Affairs).
- Due diligence activities to identify risks and opportunities for potential acquisitions.
- Contribute to best practices and documentation of lessons learned for future projects.
- Such other development activities may reasonably be required.

Minimum Qualifications

- 5+ years in renewable energy field, focused on development or development related matters
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an environmental field, engineering, business or related field
- PMP designation considered an asset
- Experience in Quebec and/or British Columbia considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license.

Compensation

- Base salary range: $125,000 to $150,000 CAD, commensurate with experience.
- Target annual bonus: 20% of base salary.
- Compensation will vary depending on experience and qualifications.
