Contract Duration: Oct 6th to Dec 31st 2026, with the possibility of extension

Security Clearance: Current SECRET clearance or higher is required at time of application

Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Microsoft Security Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise security solutions across a Microsoft technology ecosystem. The successful candidate will provide strategic security leadership and architectural direction for cloud, identity, data, infrastructure, and application security initiatives while ensuring alignment with organizational security, compliance, and risk management objectives.

This role will collaborate with business leaders, project teams, security operations teams, and technology stakeholders to establish secure-by-design solutions that protect critical business assets and support digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement secure cloud solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview.




- Lead the adoption and implementation of Zero Trust architecture principles across cloud, identity, data, application, and infrastructure environments.
- Design and manage enterprise identity and access management solutions, including authentication, authorization, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Conditional Access policies.
- Develop secure architectures that protect organizational assets while enabling business and digital transformation objectives.
- Conduct security assessments, threat modeling, and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate security controls.
- Design and implement security controls aligned with organizational security policies, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices.
- Apply and support security frameworks and compliance standards, including NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, government security policies, and Microsoft's Zero Trust security model.
- Design and integrate enterprise security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response capabilities using Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR, and Microsoft Security Copilot.
- Collaborate with security operations, architecture, infrastructure, application, and business teams to ensure security requirements are embedded throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Provide architectural leadership and guidance on cloud security, identity protection, compliance, governance, and risk management initiatives.




- Support the continuous improvement of enterprise cybersecurity capabilities, security standards, and governance practices.

Requirements

- Minimum 10+ years of experience in enterprise cybersecurity, security architecture, cloud security, identity management, or related disciplines.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft security technologies, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, and the broader Microsoft security ecosystem.
- Proven experience designing and implementing secure cloud architectures across Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Robust knowledge of Zero Trust architecture, identity protection, access management, and secure network design principles.
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and enterprise authentication and authorization solutions.
- Experience conducting security assessments, threat modeling, risk analysis, and developing security controls to mitigate organizational risk.
- Strong understanding of security monitoring, SIEM, threat detection, incident response, and security operations practices utilizing Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, and Security Copilot.
- Experience applying and supporting security frameworks and compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and enterprise security governance requirements.
- Knowledge of data protection, information governance, privacy, compliance, and risk management practices within enterprise environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business leaders, security teams, architects, and technology stakeholders to deliver secure-by-design solutions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex security requirements into practical architectural solutions.
