We can consider your application only if you meet all of criteria. iClassifier is looking for a talent to join our R&D team in the area of computer vision and image processing. The successful candidate is expected to start as of April 1st 2026 and will conduct industry-related research in smart agriculture product system design and development. The candidate should have experience with Python programming, deep-learning based computer vision, classic image processing, image annotation, and data collection. Eligibility:For this T4 tax slip issued position, the Candidate must meet "Youth Employment in NRC IRAP program" eligibility criteria:- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada- Be 30 years old or younger at the start of the internship- Able to work a minimum of 37 hours/week- Recent post-secondary graduate in a relevant field of study- Must work full time on an identified project-component for a minimum of 6-monthsCandidate profileThe position requires a self-starting researcher with a proven record of accomplishments in the required fields. The candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must be able to work and lead in both a team-oriented environment or as an individual. Skills and Requirements- Graduate degree in a related disciplines such as Computing Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Mechatronics- Experience in applying computer vision and deep learning methods - Strong coding and programming skills in Python plus maintain high coding standards - Practical experience with modern deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow)- Mastery of classical machine learning algorithms for classification, regression, data preprocessing.- Experience with classic image/video processing and computer vision- Team working mindset is essentialAssets to have- Prior experience in:o working with 3D camera and 3D data analysiso livestock assessmento industrial working with machine learningo gait analysis- Previous co-op or work experience in industry or livestock breeding farm- Understanding and developing APIs in a microservice architecture (FastAPI, Docker, PyTest)Responsibilities:- Work with other Computer Vision and Machine Learning engineers on high-impact projects and innovate new solutions to problems in the fields of smart agriculture- Develop new data acquisition, data processing, and machine learning pipelines - Design custom Neural Network-based and classical machine learning-based (KNN, SVM, DT, Random Forest) classification models- Developing, maintaining, and testing features for new and existing applications- Setting up test rigs, data collection and imaging on the farm to acquire data for the project (should be comfortable with cows and livestock)- Communicate effectively and professionally- Writing progress reports and creating technical documentation and create comprehensive product documentation- After-hours work may be requiredOther notes:· This position is full-time and requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week.· Travel may be required· The term of employment is 6 months years with the possibility of extension and full time employment (depending on the performance).· The successful candidate must be present in Edmonton AB on the starting date.Pay: $60k annually
