Experienced Ground Worker – Tree Service A Cut Above Tree Experts Inc. – Guelph, ON

$25–$35/hour | Full time A Cut Above Tree Experts is looking for an experienced Ground Worker to join our growing tree care company in the Guelph area.

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 1 year of professional tree service experience who is comfortable working as part of a tree removal and pruning crew. This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate understands how a tree crew operates, works safely and efficiently, and can anticipate what needs to be done on the ground.

Responsibilities
Assist with tree removals and pruning operations
Operate and feed a wood chipper safely and efficiently
Manage ropes and assist climbers with rigging operations
Drag, process and organize brush and wood
Operate chainsaws and other tree care equipment
Maintain a clean and organized job site
Assist with loading, unloading and daily equipment preparation
Perform basic equipment maintenance and inspections
Communicate effectively with the crew leader and climbers




Follow company safety procedures and maintain awareness of hazards on site

Requirements
Minimum 1 year of qualified tree service experience
Experience operating a wood chipper
Comfortable operating chainsaws on the ground
Basic knowledge of knots, ropes and tree rigging
Physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work
Reliable and able to arrive prepared and on time
Strong work ethic and ability to take initiative
Able to work safely around equipment, vehicles and active tree operations
Valid driver's licence preferred

Compensation $25–$35/hour, depending on experience, skill level and ability.
