As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of single or multiple customer facing and internal projects, balancing technical confidence, commercial control, governance discipline and a strong customer experience.
This is a senior delivery role within the Synapse360 Operations and Support team, responsible for overseeing and aiding the delivery of service-wrapped and one-off infrastructure projects for customers across the Isle of Man, the UK and worldwide satellite locations.
Synapse360 is a high-level Dell Technologies award-winning partner, integrating leading technologies from Dell, VMware, Microsoft and other key vendors. Our portfolio includes fully managed private cloud, multi-cloud, data protection and cyber, VDI and monitoring services.
We will support the successful candidate in learning our solution technologies and progressing through appropriate formal industry qualifications relating to our services and the role.
What we expect
- Own end-to-end delivery of assigned customer projects from initiation and planning through to implementation, transition, closure and lessons learnt.
- Manage multiple concurrent technical projects or workstreams, ensuring adherence to scope, quality, time, cost, benefits and customer commitments.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, service delivery, sales, supply chain, product/vendor teams and third-party suppliers.
- Use structured project management methods and practical technical understanding to navigate complexity, manage dependencies and remove delivery blockers.
- Provide clear, timely project reporting to customers, internal stakeholders and senior management, including risks, issues, milestones, budget position and decision points.
- Protect delivery governance through disciplined RAID management, change control, stage gates, documentation, acceptance into service and customer sign-off.
Areas of responsibility
- Be accountable for the execution of assigned projects and project workstreams in compliance with Statements of Work, contracts, agreed governance and the complete project lifecycle.
- Manage customer, internal stakeholder and supplier relationships during the delivery phase, ensuring expectations, dependencies, risks and decisions are clearly managed.
- Define and maintain project scope, objectives, success criteria, delivery approach and technical feasibility in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, RAID logs, dependency trackers, milestone reports, budget trackers and governance artefacts to monitor progress.
- Coordinate internal resources and third-party suppliers to ensure tasks are understood, sequenced, assigned and delivered to the right quality standard.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule and cost using appropriate verification, impact assessment, approval and change-control techniques.
- Measure project performance using suitable tools, dashboards and reporting methods, escalating clearly and early where management support is needed.
- Perform proactive risk and issue management to minimise delivery risk and protect customer outcomes.
- Support acceptance into service, handover, customer adoption, documentation, operational readiness and post-project review activities.
- Contribute to process improvements upstream and downstream to improve delivery maturity, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and repeatability.
- Support, coach and guide Junior or Assistant Project Managers where allocated, including workload focus, quality standards, tactical objectives and development support.
Hours of work
- Our customers are supported 24/7, but this role sits within the 8x5 team, providing project management, governance and delivery leadership between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
- The role is 37.5 hours per week within these times.
- You may be asked to work occasional additional hours or weekends to support customer project installations; time will be given back in lieu or paid as necessary.
- You may be required to travel for project meetings to company locations and customer sites.
- We offer flexible working across our locations,
but you should aim to attend the office for the majority of the week to build rapport and strengthen collaboration. WFH is available based on activity or task.

Experience
- At least 5 years of relevant project delivery experience gained within multi-disciplinary technology, infrastructure, managed services or business change environments.
- Demonstrable experience delivering multiple concurrent projects or workstreams involving technical teams, third-party suppliers and senior stakeholders.
- Formal project management qualification is desirable, such as PRINCE2, PRINCE2 Agile, Agile/Scrum, APM, PMP or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong working knowledge of project governance, including RAID, PIDs, stage-gate controls, project plans, change control, acceptance criteria, lessons learnt and perks realisation.
- Experience with project management, service desk and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Service Cloud or other ITSMs.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 core applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams; CoPilot, Power BI or dashboard/reporting experience would be advantageous.
- Technical awareness across infrastructure, networking, cloud, Microsoft platforms, service transition, data/application integration or customer-facing managed services is highly desirable.
- Experience of customer-facing delivery, supplier/vendor management and commercial control including budget, scope, contractual compliance and value for money.
- Knowledge of data centre hosting processes and nuances is desirable.
Education Degree, HND or equivalent qualification demonstrating focus, ability and commitment to development is desirable but not essential.
