Overview
This paid position offers a unique prospect to research and catalogue a private collection.
Responsibilities
Manage database containing collection records, ensuring metadata is complete, accurate, and up-to-date for easy retrieval and analysis
Support the organization and cataloging of collections, including handling artifacts or artworks with care and precision
Write transparent and compelling interpretive texts for displays, catalogs, or online content that communicate complex ideas effectively
Research value of individual pieces.
Prepare the collection for sale.
Must be able to work on your own.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience working with databases and managing metadata related to collections or archives
Strong research skills with the ability to analyze sources critically and synthesize information effectively
Prior experience in a museum, gallery, library, or similar cultural institution is preferred but not required; relevant internships are welcome
Previous experience handling and cleaning artwork
Previous experience researching values.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
