Enhance Indigenous health outcomes in Alberta as an Indigenous Hospital Liaison at AHS in Strathmore. Support diverse FNMI clients within AHS facilities, bridging cultural insights with healthcare practices.
In this full time role, you'll provide essential support services for First Nations, Metis, and Inuit clients. Your deep understanding of Indigenous cultures and health practices will supplement care provided by healthcare professionals. You will contribute to discharge planning, providing cultural consultations for other healthcare teams when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist FNMI clients and families in AHS facilities
• Provide cultural input to discharge planning teams
• Offer guidance and recommendations for patient care
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals effectively
• Ensure cultural consultation aligns with Indigenous wellness methods
Requirements:
• Diploma or certificate in health-related program
• In-depth knowledge of Indigenous history and culture
• Registered member of Siksika Nation
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Good written communication skills
