Compensation: $45,000-$55,000, includes comprehensive benefits package following successful completion of 3-month probationary period.
Work Location: Kelowna Visitor Centre (must be Kelowna based)
JOB OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Manager of Community & Visitor Engagement, the Retail Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Tourism Kelowna’s retail and consignment program while supporting visitor servicing operations at the Kelowna Visitor Centre.
This position plays a key role in driving retail performance through product selection and sourcing, product development, vendor relations, merchandising, inventory management, and promotional activities.
The Retail Coordinator also provides leadership and support to Community Specialists and volunteers while contributing to a positive visitor experience and Tourism Kelowna’s community engagement objectives.

Responsibilities & Qualifications DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Retail Operations Coordinate Tourism Kelowna’s retail and consignment program, including product selection and sourcing, product ordering, inventory management, and merchandising.
Manage relationships with retail vendors, consignment partners, and service providers.
Maintain inventory, product forecasting, inventory reporting, and restocking requirements.
Identify and evaluate new products, retail opportunities, and sales initiatives.
Develop and deliver retail activations, promotions, and initiatives that support Visitor Centre visitation and retail sales.
Monitor retail performance and support achievement of established sales goals and key performance indicators.




Customer Service & Visitor Engagement Provide exceptional customer service and destination information to visitors and residents.
Support Tourism Kelowna’s goal of enhancing the visitor experience and community engagement.
Maintain a high level of product knowledge and destination awareness.
Support the planning and execution of Visitor Centre events, promotions, and special initiatives.
Leadership & Coordination Provide day-to-day guidance, mentorship, and support to Community Specialists, volunteers, and retail team members.
Act as a primary point of contact during the absence of the Manager or Director.
Assist with administrative duties, reporting, scheduling support, and operational coordination.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience in retail operations, merchandising, inventory management, customer service, tourism, or hospitality.
Robust customer service, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and team coordination abilities.
Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently.
Experience managing inventory, retail purchasing, merchandising, and sales performance.
Experience working with point-of-sale systems, inventory systems, content management systems, or customer relationship management systems is considered an asset.
Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Knowledge of Kelowna, Central Okanagan, and tourism experiences is considered an asset.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 30 lbs.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence required.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
