The Role
Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse looking to develop your career in a dynamic perioperative environment? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Staff Nurse to join our Recovery and X-Ray Theatres team, providing high-quality care to patients recovering from surgery and undergoing radiological procedures. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

Queen Elizabeth University Hospital

Monday to Sunday – early/late shift, weekends, no night duty

Permanent, full-time

Key Responsibilities

Assess patient care needs and plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality programmes of care for postoperative and radiology patients

Provide secure, compassionate and person-centred care within the recovery and radiology environment

Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and continuity of patient care

Support, supervise and mentor students, newly qualified staff and support workers within the clinical area

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with professional, clinical and information governance standards

Contribute to the effective management of resources, equipment, supplies and departmental stock levels





Recognise and respond appropriately to changing patient conditions and clinical emergencies within a fast-paced environment

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job

Registered Nurse on the NMC Register or hold an appropriate Operating Department Practitioner qualification

Experience working within a clinical healthcare workplace with a commitment to delivering excellent patient care

Ability to assess patient needs and deliver evidence-based care within professional guidelines

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Ability to supervise, support and develop less experienced colleagues and students

Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands

Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge and skills
