What you’ll be doing As the Director, Process Design Chapter Lead within Everyday Banking, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing process design and engineering capabilities. You'll manage and develop a team of approximately 8-15 process specialists, driving consistency in tools and methodologies across your Chapter. Your focus will be on drafting and implementing process standards in collaboration with the Chapter Area Lead and Product Owners, ensuring alignment with CIBC's client aspirations and business objectives. You'll foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, championing best practices and innovation in process engineering. By contributing as an active member of a Squad, you'll deliver high-quality work that advances Squad objectives and supports the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process. Your skills leadership will empower the team to optimize, redesign, and automate business processes for enhanced efficiency, effectiveness, and client experience. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week in office, while other days will be remote.
How you’ll succeed Process design & engineering leadership - Draft and implement process standards and methodologies, ensuring consistency and quality across the Chapter for mapping end-to-end journeys and identifying opportunities. Chapter leadership and development - Manage and develop team members through coaching, on-the-job development, and performance management, building specialist expertise in process engineering with a focus on operational efficiencies and a client-centric mindset. Strategic planning & workforce management - Contribute to strategic workforce and capability planning, supporting broader resourcing and strategic adjustments as required. Cross-chapter collaboration - Lead or facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives across Chapters, representing the Chapter area in key forums and decision‑making bodies. Process optimization & automation - Analyze, optimize,
and redesign business processes using methodologies such as BPMN, Lean, Six Sigma, and Value Stream Mapping; leverage process automation tools to drive operational excellence. Squad delivery & QBR Support - Deliver work as a Squad member, advancing Squad outcomes and supporting the Quarterly Business Review process.
Who you are You’re an experienced process design leader and people manager. You bring 7-9 years of expertise in process engineering or process design within financial services or a related industry, and have led teams for at least 5 years. You're skilled in process modeling and improvement. You have strong knowledge of process modeling methodologies such as BPMN, Lean, Six Sigma, and Value Stream Mapping, and are familiar with process automation tools. You're a strategic thinker and decision‑maker. You excel at analyzing complex challenges, leveraging diverse frameworks, and driving organizational change to achieve business objectives. You're a collaborative and innovative leader. You foster a positive, inclusive, and results‑oriented setting, inspiring your team and building constructive relationships across diverse stakeholders.
