Role Description The Controller, CPA role is a full-time, on-site position based in Surrey, BC. The individual in this role oversees all accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and monthly and annual financial close. Daily responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, monitoring cash flow, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. The Controller collaborates with leadership to provide financial analysis, support strategic decision-making, and implement internal controls that safeguard company assets. This role also involves supervising accounting staff, improving financial processes and systems, and partnering with operational teams to support inventory,



cost accounting, and margin analysis.
Qualifications Skilled accounting designation as a CPA and several years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally in distribution, manufacturing, or related industries.
Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, with proven experience managing full-cycle accounting.
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills, including experience with financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools.
Demonstrated leadership and people management abilities, including mentoring staff, delegating work effectively, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non‑financial stakeholders and collaborate across departments.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; experience in inventory, cost accounting, or working with building products or construction clients is an asset.
