Join Wiikwemkoong Child and Family Services as an In-Home Support Worker. This role focuses on advocating for families and children within the community, ensuring rights and services are upheld.
Wiikwemkoong is looking for four qualified individuals to assist families at risk of child welfare involvement. As an In-Home Support Worker, you will provide support, resources, and guidance, conducting regular home visits to monitor progress and assess family needs. This position is essential for ensuring culturally appropriate services that adhere to Anishnaabe values.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advocate for families at risk within child welfare
• Conduct home visits for assessments and support
• Connect families to essential services and resources
• Maintain accurate case records and progress notes
• Participate in ongoing training for best practices
Requirements:
• Social Work degree or related field preferred
• 2 years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of local programs and services
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills
• Ability to understand Anishnaabemowin is an asset
