About the position
Are you an energetic person who thrives on providing quality service to library users? Do you have an understanding of providing high quality information, reference and research services, including specialised consultations in a library environment? If you do and you are well organized, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to liaise with abroad range of people, and are committed to a team approach, we would welcome your application to work at the Australian National University Library.
The Librarian, Science & Medicine is part of the Client Services stream in the University Library. The position works under the broad direction of the Information Access and Collection Management Coordinator and will be expected to develop, nurture and maintain productive relationships and work closely with all staff across the library in the interest of achieving team objectives. The Librarian, Science & Medicine liaises with staff and students across the University and other stakeholders.
About you
To be successful you will have:
A degree with relevant experience, or extensive experience and management expertise in communications, librarianship or information management; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training




Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of working in a client-focused service environment.
Demonstrated ability to supervise, develop and mentor staff.
Demonstrated experience with the planning, development and delivery of training activities relevant to information literacy.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with collection management, information access and open science.
A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of equal opportunity principles and policies and a commitment to their application in a university context.
