Job Title: CNC Senior Operator
LOCATION: Regal Rd. Guelph, ON N1K 1B5
We are seeking a motivated CNC Machine Operator with strong mathematical and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will support the machining and production process by operating CNC equipment, assisting with machine setup, and performing production machining tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate machine tools to perform repetitive machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, boring or other machining operations within a timely manner
Handle change over set ups on repeated parts as directed and ensure cycle times are achieved prior to hand offs
Assist Machinist with the setup operation of CNC Milling and Lathe Machines
Achieve and maintain cycle times
Load and unload parts in a safe and productive manner
Monitor and maintain tooling in peak conditions
Perform quality checks as required. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precision measuring instruments as required, complete all associated quality documentation
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance
Submit lean & safety suggestions
Participate in maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Practice general housekeeping, including but not limited to, his/her work area, chip removal, floor areas, benches, storage areas to ensure a safe work environment
Compliance with all company rules, policies, procedures and programs
Follow established safety practices and regulations
Ability to communicate effectively with peers, engineers, quality assurance and management
Available for day and evening shifts as required
Complete other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum grade 12 education
2-3 years of related work experience in a CNC facility/environment
Knowledge of CNC programming for mills and lathes
Strong math skills
Knowledge of SPC and the ability to analyze data
Proficient in the use of various measuring devices including caliper, digital indicator, micrometer, height gauge
Ability to read blueprints, drawings, charts, tables, quality documentation and various symbols regarding tolerances, surface finishes etc. GD&T; knowledge is an asset
Able to read, interpret and react to CMM reports
Ability to effectively communicate on both oral and written forms to various levels within the organizations
Motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Robust analytical skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy
Committed to continuous improvement
Desire to expand knowledge and experience in the trade of CNC Machining
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, or similar CNC controls.
Experience with both custom, prototype and short-run to long-run production
