On-Site Customer Technical Service - Bilingual
Job Summary Responsible for identifying and managing the technical and continuous improvement needs (products/services) of assigned customer and oversight of any technical activities related to same. This includes coordination of both laboratory and manufacturing activities, and applicable training of customer employees. The successful qualifier is the on-site customer technical service for Sun Chemical, and as such, will perform to the professional contributor goals and objectives as any other CTS Tech team member. This includes special emphasis on tailor-made projects and initiatives meeting with the agreement and partnership built into the arrangement with the customer (s)he serves
Job Duties & Responsibilities Leads or participates in process improvement initiatives with customer and Sun personnel. This requires dedication of significant time,



as well as any Sun resources to support the customer through major operational improvement projects including, but not limited in any way, to: Press throughput, decreased color down time, inventory and work-off management, print quality improvements. Will participate regularly with the end use customer as our customer arranges, to provide expertise in job planning.
Participates in, or leads, strategic customer’s technical meetings. Drives action register for execution of planned technical activities.
Makes product selection decisions in accordance with Product Management based on end use application and conducts appropriate trial related activities. Conducts research to develop custom products, coordinates with internal product management to define product recommendations, provides fitness for use guidance that aligns with end use application, required specifications, and customer process
Supplies training needs to customer employee base, especially where it pertains to performance of ink blending, inventory, workoff, and other basic functions of ink blending in-house. Assists customer in providing input and recommendations for same as the needs change through growth (additional employees) or personnel changes. Train, oversee and maintain key QC standards dbase and high-level ink management functions, TBD. Will have continency plans and training in place for emergency execution of employee blending operation,



including personal backfill. However, it will be the CTS qualifiers responsibility to have contingency plans which do not narrow the options to personal backfill except in major emergencies.
Reports all field activity within CRM tool (salesforce.com). Completes technical call reports and trial reports as needed, including both internal and external documentation. Submits, and follows up RCML requests, and RLWs where required
Provides for emergency backfill support for our products in case of sudden loss of customer supplied blending
Qualifications/Requirements Post Secondary Education in Chemistry or related field or equivalent level of experience
5 years’ industry related experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong analytical skills & the ability to multi-task
Experience with Kepner Tregoe, Six Sigma, Industry lab, and press equipment
Previous experience with Flexo, Solvent & Gravure ( UV an asset)
Ability to travel on a sporadic basis (Canada & US)
