Reporting to the Manager, Child Life, Awasisak and Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) at the Stollery Children's Hospital, Acute Care Alberta, the Team Lead/Clinical Lead provides day-to-day operational and clinical leadership for Child Life, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, and Recreation Therapy services. This role is responsible for coordinating staff, programs, and services to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-informed care that meets the psychosocial, developmental, emotional, and therapeutic needs of children, youth, and families. As a key program leader, you will mentor and support staff, provide clinical consultation, respond to complex clinical questions, and facilitate ongoing learning and professional development. You will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of services, ensuring programs align with patient and family needs, professional standards, and organizational priorities. Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, you will promote integrated, patient- and family-centered care while supporting quality improvement initiatives, program development, evaluation activities, and knowledge translation. You will contribute to site, zone, and provincial initiatives and collaborate with discipline-specific leaders to advance best practices and service excellence. You will also provide operational leadership through workload management, scheduling, referral triage, prioritization of services, resource coordination, equipment management, and student placements. The Team Lead/Clinical Lead may provide direct clinical services and consultation in complex patient care situations. Description:
As a Recreation Therapy Professional Practice Lead (PPL) you will advance professional practice for the discipline to support excellence in patient and family centred care. You will act as a key discipline professional practice support and resource for staff,



programs and leadership in the zone or service sector for evidence-based practice, professional standards, ethics and legislative requirements. As the recreation therapy professional practice lead you will lead quality improvement, program development, evaluation and knowledge translation related to zone, service sector, staff and patient needs. You may represent the service sector or zone on provincial advisories, working groups, councils and initiatives. The Recreation Therapy PPL provides discipline expertise to clinicians, operational managers and directors to meet needs related to emerging trends, scope of practice, staff mix, service models and outcome targets.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies.Minimum 5 years clinical experience in related area.Active registration as a qualified member with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution as required for registration or professional membership inallied health eligible profession.Minimum 5 years of experience in a Pediatric Tertiary Care FacilityMinimum 3 years front line leadership experienceDemonstrated ability in leading teams, coaching, mentoring and teaching, and the ability to facilitatepractice growth in othersDemonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships and partnerships with internal and externalstakeholdersEffective communication, problem solving, change management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years' experience in a Child Life Program working as a Certified Child Life Specialist, Music Therapist, Art Therapist or Recreation Therapist.
