Health and Safety Coordinator
Requirements for Controlled Goods Clearance
Successful security clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration program is a mandatory pre-requirement for this position at this location. Please note the following are some (but not all) of the listed requirements for Controlled Goods Clearance:
Must be a Canadian citizen normally residing in Canada, or must be a Permanent Resident normally residing in Canada
Must have valid and current identification (i.e.: driver’s license, passport, birth certificate)
Must be able to provide a residential address and employment history of the past 5 years
If applicable, living outside of Canada during the past five years will require an international criminal name check
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
Being part of a site EHS Team where you directly improve worker safety across four manufacturing facilities in a high paced manufacturing environment
Guide site leadership to continuously reduce employee hazard exposure and risks
Developing and guiding site-specific health and safety programs in the areas of industrial hygiene, personal protective equipment, noise exposure, chemical exposure, and other key health and safety programs
Impact site investment decisions and area of focus to improve on hazards associated:
Hearing conservation
Chemical and physical hazard exposures
Continuously build your areas of subject matter expertise to help support a technical team who will be implementing regular changes and improvements to the site in the field of:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Designated substance control
Ventilation management
Radiation Safety
Industrial establishment regulations and associated standards
Risk and exposure assessments
Incident investigation
Providing valuable input for the site annual EHS planning cycle
Coordinating activities and improvement efforts for the sites overall EHS culture and performance
Staying current in trending activities related to the health and safety disciplines through attendance of technical conferences, membership in key qualified association/trade association teams, and benchmarking activities with peers and/or strategic partners.
Monitoring regulatory trends and activities related to industrial hygiene that could have an impact on our site operations.
Your Skills And Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University (completed and verified prior to start)
OR
Associate's degree in health and safety (completed and verified prior to start) AND One (1) year of experience in Health and Safety
AND
Current, valid Driver’s License
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Health and Safety experience in an industrial, chemical or manufacturing setting
Safety professional designation such as CRSP
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
Experience in maintaining compliance to the Occupation Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations for industry in Ontario.
Subject matter expertise in various technical fields of work such as heat stress monitoring, noise sampling, air sampling, ventilation performance testing, chemical exposure assessments, toxicology, preparing reports per Ontario Regulation for Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews
Skills shall include:
Strong leadership abilities
Strong change management understanding and leadership skills with the ability to influence others.
Able to be a team player willing to developyourself and others.
Proven results in leading technical programs and challenges
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Strong knowledge of current health and safety regulations and standards
Computer proficiency
Strong oral and written communication skills
Work location:
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work in the Brockville offices five days a week.
In this role, you may be required to travel approximately 2.5% of the time, which may involve overnight stays.

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Compensation
The expected compensation range for this position is 80,000-110,000 Canadian, which includes base pay and variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
