Job Description Department Overview. Operational Risk Management ("ORM") is accountable for the design and implementation of TDBG's Operational Risk Management Framework that sets out the Bank's governance, policies, processes and practices for the identification, assessment, reporting, mitigation and control of operational risk. Within this context, C-ORM acts as an independent risk management function responsible for ensuring the Bank has an effective operational risk management program to manage risk within the Bank's risk appetite.
Job Description Summary Provide a broad range of risk analysis, reporting, monitoring and/or support to business partner requests and act as a specialist/expert in providing guidance/ advice on a range of risk related matters within the Issues Management team. May support and/or provide oversight, commentary, and strategy analysis in connection with Issues Management program.
Key Accountabilities Customer Develop and operationalize standards, policies and processes to identify, report and mitigate overall risk exposures within the Issues Management program;
Proactively analyze Issues Management data and produce trend analysis to inform forward looking results;
Conduct independent validation of Issues Management report data and metrics to ensure accuracy and completeness;
Establish and provide regular risk analysis, and reporting on Issues Management data;
Analyze and perform thematic analysis of Issues Management data;
Use advanced methods to contribute to new solutions and recommend standards against which others will operate;
Support established enterprise-wide risk escalation, review and approval processes, data management, policies and risk assessment processes;
Provide regular commentary and industry analysis in supporting the development/ maintenance/ oversight of policies/ procedures/ practices related to the Issues Management program;
Shareholder Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to the Issues Management program;
Ensure Issues Management policies, processes and practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities;
Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; elevate issues where appropriate;
Ensure business operations are compliant with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets);
Participate in cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert and provide guidance for complex situations;
Conduct internal and external research projects; support the development/ delivery of presentations / communications to management or broader audience;
Conduct meaningful analysis at the enterprise and segment level using Issues Management results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices;
Monitor productivity and assess efficiency levels within the Issues Management team and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exists;
Support the implementation of remediation plans to address issues;
Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or oversight functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements;
Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts;
Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite;
Employee / Team Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest;
Provide thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for Issues Management and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit;
Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of ORM programs and related tools and techniques;
Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team;
Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status or useful information related to day-to-day activities;
Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others, by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging best practices.;
Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships.;
Contribute to a fair, positive and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce.;
Act as a brand ambassador for the Issues Management team and Corporate ORM overall both internally and/or externally;
BREADTH & DEPTH Acts as a subject matter expert of the Issues Management program and a resource to others;
Conducts Issues Management analysis to inform decision making at senior levels;
Works independently and performs ongoing monitoring and analysis of Issues management data to inform future trends;
Integrates the broader organizational context into advice and solutions within own area;
Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, including consultation with multiple stakeholders;
Uses advanced methods to contribute to new solutions and recommend standards against which others will operate;
Builds stakeholder alignment in leading projects and activities; may provide process and subject matter advice at senior levels;
Identifies and leads problem resolution for complex issues at all levels;
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or 5+ years relevant experience
