Be a part of a team that truly helps to make this happen!Reporting to the Plant’s Quality Assurance Manager, the incumbent will assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the plant’s quality systems and programs. The QA Technician also acts as a technical resource and audits operators who conduct quality checks.This recruitment post is for 4 contract on the afternoon shift role based at our Manufacturing plant located in Oakville, ON.Role Responsibilities:Sets up and participates in daily organoleptic evaluation of raw materials, semi-finished goods and finished products.Supports the maintenance and execution of the plant’s food safety and quality management systems, ensuring consistently high standards of product quality and plant compliance to all applicable food safety and regulatory standards for food manufacturingPerforms routine inspections on Positive Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), compliance to product specifications, non-conforming material and standard workTracks and supports resulting corrective actionsInitiates and communicates preparation of Notice of Quality Deviations for all packaging materials, raw materials, semi-finished good and finished goods placed on hold due to deviation. Tracks and supports resulting corrective actionsSupports plant trials and research and development through sample collection,
testing monitoring and documenting resultsSupport a positive health and safety culture and the adherence to all applicable safety legislation and policiesPerform routine tests in food microbiology such as: Total Aerobic Plate Count, Coliform and Yeast and Mold Count etc.Prepare, review and report results of microbiological analysisPerform water analysis and environmental swabs( Listeria, Salmonella, TPC, Y&M;, and Coliform)Maintain media and reagents as needed for daily microbiological testingCreate COA( certificate of Analysis)Order and perform inventory control for supplies and reagentsSkillsProficient in Windows/MS OfficeGood written and oral communication skills, including report writingAbility to research and effectively obtain pertinent information from the InternetCollect, organize and interpret large volumes of data.Strong attention to detail, thorough in creating and reviewing documentationAbility to work independently and in a team environment, with strong organizational skillsKnowledgeDemonstrated knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, GMP’s, Regulatory Compliance and internal and external audit processesBasic knowledge of statistical process controlEducationPost-secondary diploma/certificate from a program related to Quality Assurance such as Food Science/Technology, Microbiology, or Chemistry or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.Compensation:The hourly rate for this position is $29.63 per hour.RBI and its subsidiaries use automated tools, including Artificial Intelligence, to enhance candidate experience, help review applications and support the hiring process.
