Join J.D. Irving as a motivated Production Engineer and enhance shipbuilding processes in a collaborative environment. Your expertise will support high-quality construction and innovative methods for complex projects.
In this full time, in-office role, you will bridge engineering and production while designing processes and tools for shipbuilding. You will collaborate closely with multiple teams, ensuring continuous improvement and effective risk mitigation. Your hands-on experience will be vital in supporting engineering tests and guiding junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop Manufacturing Instructions for installation sequences
• Design production tools like jigs and fixtures
• Review production drawings for accuracy
• Plan and support engineering tests for new products
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent; P.Eng. eligibility
• 3+ years in shipbuilding or heavy industrial manufacturing
• Familiarity with ship systems and production functions
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical documentation
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and 3D models
