Job Summary & Requirements
In this role you will report to the Manager of Medical Imaging. Our ultrasound department is well-appointed with the latest technology. The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs all ultrasound procedures prescribed by physicians and radiologists, while documenting high quality images. Other duties include, but are not limited to:
Assist radiologists and surgeons in the performance of ultrasound-related special procedures
Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working condition
Liaise with booking staff and patient units as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Graduate from a recognized accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Registered in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation andImagingTechnologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
Experience
Experience demonstrating clinical competency in all aspects of ultrasound procedures required.
Experience in performing general, abdominal, obstetric, gynaecological,small partsand paediatric ultrasound examinations required.
MSK experience is an asset
IPS certification is preferred
Working knowledge of the standards of practice for related field
Able to identify and recommend process improvement opportunities
Able to work independently and co-operatively as part of a team
Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and exercise independent judgment
Demonstrate ability to assess requests and prioritize them to ensure excellent and prompt patient care
Maintain effective communication and interpersonal skills
Must have experience or be willing to train in vascular ultrasound
