Job Title: PrimePanel Carpenter (Roof/Floor Assemblies)
Location: PrimeFab Production Facility
Position Type: Full time
Wage: $27-32 hourly
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our PrimePanel production team. In this role, you will specialize in the precision assembly of prefabricated wood roof and floor panels. Unlike traditional on-site framing, our facility focuses on manufacturing high-performance, quality-controlled assemblies that allow for rapid dry-in on the job site.
The ideal candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, understands the critical importance of dimensional accuracy to prevent downstream installation issues, and is committed to PrimeFab’s goal of executing on-time and on-budget with zero rework.
Key Responsibilities
- System Assembly: Accurately measure, cut, and assemble dimensional lumber and engineered wood products for floor and roof panels according to detailed shop drawings and 3D models.
- Sheathing & Integration: Install sheathing, structural connections, and integrated membranes or insulation, ensuring all components are square, flush, and properly fastened.
- Quality Control (QC): Actively participate in the PrimeFab QA/QC process by completing Critical Control Point checks (e.g., verifying overall sizes, joist spacing, header sizes, and checking for excessive wane or bowing in lumber) before panels move to the next station.
- Cross-Training: Maintain flexibility and agility to cross-train on other stations or product lines (including the Weinmann automated line or PrimeWall) to support shop flow during production gaps.
- Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean, organized workspace and strictly adhere to ISO 45001 safety standards, logging any indirect labor or maintenance tasks during unassigned time.
Required Skills & Experience
- Carpentry Expertise: 3 years of framing or rough carpentry experience (prefab/modular manufacturing experience is a major plus).
- Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to read, interpret, and build directly from complex architectural and structural shop drawings.
- Attention to Detail: High standard for quality and a zero-tolerance mindset for defects or rework.
- Tool Proficiency: Expert use of pneumatic nailers, saws, hand tools, and laser measurement equipment.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and work safely around heavy moving assemblies.
Work Environment
- This is a non-union position in a fast-paced, high-tech production facility.
- You will work with a team that values efficiency, high-quality output, and continuous improvement.
Year-round, indoor work with a steady schedule, completely avoiding the weather delays of traditional site construction
