Location: Toronto & North York, Ontario

Job Type: Full time, 9-Month Contract

Hours: 35 hours per week

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Contract: 9-month contract, with potential for extension

About the Role

Our employer partner is seeking a Social Work Project Worker to support the implementation of a youth violence prevention initiative focused on youth empowerment, emotional well-being, leadership development, and building safer communities.

The successful candidate will work with youth aged 13–25 from diverse cultural backgrounds and support the delivery of workshops, mentorship, family engagement activities, and youth-led community initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and implement project activities, workshops, and community events.
- Recruit, engage, and support youth participants from diverse backgrounds.
- Develop and facilitate workshops focused on social-emotional learning, leadership, and youth development.
- Provide case management, mentorship, and support to participating youth.
- Plan and coordinate family engagement activities.
- Support youth in developing and implementing community action projects.
- Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct community outreach and promote project activities.
- Maintain accurate participant records and collect program evaluation data.
- Prepare program reports and documentation.
- Participate in staff meetings and perform other related duties as required.

Mandatory Qualifications

Candidates must meet all of the following requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (BSW) or an equivalent degree in Social Work – required.
- Current Registered Social Worker (RSW) registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) – required.
- Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese)

- Experience working with youth, families, and diverse communities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and group facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of youth development, social-emotional learning, violence prevention, or family engagement.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual communication platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Experience supporting youth affected by family conflict, violence, or other challenging circumstances.
- Passion for youth empowerment and community development.
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Creative, energetic, and resourceful approach to program delivery.

Program Focus The successful candidate will help youth develop skills in:
- Emotional regulation
- Empathy and stress management
- Conflict resolution
- Teamwork and decision-making
- Leadership and advocacy
- Community engagement

The project will include:
- Monthly Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) workshops
- Bi-monthly leadership skills training
- Family engagement events
- Youth-led community action projects
- Community awareness campaigns and forums
