As an Environmental Specialist, you will manage research projects, develop work plans, and ensure compliance with environmental legislation. This role requires expertise in natural resource management and the ability to communicate with various stakeholders, including First Nations and regulatory agencies. You'll also direct field personnel and provide scientific guidance during public meetings and emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare project budgets, terms, and analytical reports
• Implement mitigation programs for BC Hydro facilities
• Conduct inspections to monitor compliance with environmental standards
• Provide technical direction to staff during emergencies
• Communicate environmental impacts to stakeholders
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource or Environmental Studies
• Minimum three years of relevant experience
• Eligible for the Biologist in Training designation
• Valid BC Driver's License required
• Ability to work in field conditions and rough terrain
