Position Overview Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the Apprentice Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar equipment.
Job Description Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
Interface with customers, products and sales support
Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
Providing support with reference to in office safety requirements
Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
Various related duties as required
Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement
Specific Skills & Experience 3rd or 4th Apprentice Mechanic (desire to complete Red Seal)
Minimum 1 year out of school experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
Dedication to safety
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset
Note: Shift work may be required
