The Assistant Facilities Supervisor Trades & Systems works collaboratively as part of the Facilities team and is responsible for coordinating the delivery of facility maintenance, building systems operations, and technical services across all division facilities. The position provides day-to-day supervision and technical leadership to internal trades staff and maintenance technicians, oversees preventative maintenance programs, and ensures that building systems, mechanical equipment, and life safety infrastructure operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
What will make you successful:
Journeyperson or certification in one of the following trades: Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration/HVAC, Power Engineer or a diploma in Building Systems Technology, Facility Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
A Facility Management Professional (FMP) or equivalent designation would be considered an asset.
Minimum five years of experience in building maintenance, trades coordination, or technical facility operations.
Minimum three years of experience supervising or leading trades or maintenance staff.
Experience working with mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems in an institutional or commercial environment.
Knowledge of OH&S;, WHMIS, confined space, lockout/tagout, and protected work practices.
Valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to travel between sites as required.
Comprehensive knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and specifications.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and asset lifecycle management.
Strong problem-solving skills in diagnosing and resolving building system issues.
Ability to coordinate and oversee the work of multiple trades and contractors.
Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulatory requirements related to building systems.
