THE POSITION Keyera is currently seeking a Team Lead, Operations to join our Empress VI facility near Medicine Hat, Alberta. This role supports the day-to-day operations needs of our facility. The successful candidate must live within 100KMs of the Empress facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES Lead day-to-day operation activities for the plant
Investigate and correct deviations to production or energy targets
Support continuous improvements to the work management workflow process
Performs Shift Engineer responsibilities to ensure adherence to the regulations and safety act
Ensure diligent and highly observant rounds are conducted by their respective team
Support the effective implementation of management system(s) for Empress Operations
Provide coverage for absent Chief Engineers/Ops Leaders
Ensure the plant operates according to operating procedures and engineered parameters in a safe and efficient manner, to meet necessary production targets and product quality standards
Immediately notify supervisor/Leader of any unsafe condition, accident, fire, or spill
Participate in risk ranking exercises in regard to work management and project initiation
Provide frontline visible leadership presence and reinforcement of our cultural behaviors and values
Actively participate in Health and Safety initiatives within the operations group
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 2nd class Power Engineer certificate
Ten (10) years’ experience in operations, a minimum of five (5) years' of leadership experience supervising field employees
Shutdown/turnaround experience is an asset
Demonstrated commitment to safety and an incident and injury-free workplace
Ability to work effectively across department boundaries
Proven experience in process improvement
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to lead a diverse team
A valid driver’s license and ability to provide a 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract)
This role is subject pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing and ongoing compliance with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy
