POLARON ENERGY CORP.
Solar Site Assessor
Independent Contractor
- Greater Toronto Area
Flexible schedule
- Set your own territory
- Estimated earnings ~$7,000/month
About The Role Polaron Energy Corp. is seeking self-directed Solar Site Assessors to join our network of independent contractors across the Greater Toronto Area. In this role, you will conduct in office and remote assessments for residential solar projects—meeting with homeowners, documenting electrical systems and roof conditions, performing shade analysis, and reviewing weather patterns. You will produce detailed Site Assessment Reports (SARs), including site drawings, energy consumption analysis, and recommendations on the optimal type, size, and layout of solar panels, along with estimated costs and savings. You'll present your findings directly to the customer and communicate site details to our solar designers and installation teams.
This is a flexible, contractor-based opportunity: you set your own areas and schedule, take on full- or part-time availability, and open up new territory to grow your own volume of work.
What You'll Do
- Conduct on-site residential solar assessments, building trust and rapport with homeowners.
- Document electrical systems and roof conditions; perform shade analysis and review weather patterns.
- Support in determining the recommended type, size, and layout of solar panels for each property.
- Support our SAR Team with potential costs and savings, and prepare estimates, quotations, and proposals aligned with customer needs and company standards.
- Deliver detailed Site Assessment Reports (SARs), drawings, and analysis, presenting findings to the customer.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer questions, challenges, and feedback.
- Communicate site details clearly to Polaron's solar designers and installation teams.
- Manage your own scheduling, follow-up, and territory with strong organization and independence.
What You Bring
- Energy auditing experience; NRCan (Natural Resources Canada) Energy Auditor license preferred.
- Background in the residential solar industry is highly preferred.
- Robust customer-service skills and the ability to answer technical questions clearly and confidently.
- Excellent communication skills—able to translate technical knowledge into clear, compelling client conversations.
- High level of ownership, reliability, and follow-through; a self-starter who works well without micromanagement.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to independently plan and coordinate client visits.
- Keen attention to detail and a consultative, customer-first approach.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license and access to your own reliable vehicle.
- Your own equipment (laptop and phone).
Engagement Details
- Independent contractor engagement. Appointments and assessments are scheduled within your stated availability.
- Compensation: $200.00 per site audit, plus $100.00 per signed customer sign-off (Ontario). Estimated earnings approximately $7,000.00 per month.
- Set your own territory; expand your areas and availability to increase opportunity.
- Book appointments directly into your calendar; typical availability window is 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
- Ideal volume of 3–4 assessments per day, starting at roughly 7 per week; you will typically have at least 24 hours' notice of each appointment.
- Your first SAR will likely take about two hours; training is provided (approximately 2–3 assessments to start).
- Contractors are responsible for their own vehicle, travel time, and fuel costs (gas is not reimbursed) and provide their own equipment.
